A natural turquoise lagoon carved into the towering limestone karsts of Coron Island, Twin Lagoon is one of Palawan’s most photographed marine sanctuaries. Two brackish-water basins, one open and sunlit, the other hidden and shaded, are joined by a narrow tunnel beneath a jagged rock wall, through which swimmers and kayakers pass at low tide. Sheer grey cliffs rise dramatically from the glassy water, their surfaces streaked with green vegetation clinging to impossible angles, while the water itself shifts from deep jade to brilliant aquamarine depending on the sun’s position.

Framed from above, the lagoon reveals its full geological drama: a near-perfect enclosure of karst walls cradling a pool so clear that boats appear to float on air. The site holds deep significance for the indigenous Tagbanua people, ancestral custodians of Coron Island, and remains protected as part of their communal domain.
