Cala Goloritzé is a natural cove, one of the most celebrated shores of the Gulf of Orosei on Sardinia’s wild eastern coast. Framed by sheer white limestone cliffs, this turquoise inlet is guarded by the Aguglia, a towering 143-metre rock pinnacle that rises dramatically from the sea beside a natural stone arch, both sculpted by a landslide in 1962.

Accessible only by boat or a demanding trail descending through the Supramonte di Baunei, the cove rewards effort with a rare sense of untouched wilderness. Sun-bleached pebbles meet impossibly clear water, while junipers and Mediterranean scrub cling to the cliffs above, filling the air with resin and salt. Climbers scale the Aguglia’s flanks, while swimmers drift beneath its shadow in waters that shift from emerald to deep sapphire.

Protected within a nature reserve and reachable in limited daily numbers, Cala Goloritzé preserves an atmosphere of pristine, almost primordial beauty, a landscape shaped more by geology and time than by human hand.
