A natural cove and protected beach hidden on the wild northeastern coast of Caprera Island, within the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park in Sardinia, Italy. Nicknamed Tahiti for the impossibly clear turquoise water that pools between its twin coves, Cala Coticcio unfolds beneath blinding white granite outcrops and pink-hued cliffs, its shallows shifting through improbable shades of aquamarine and jade.

Reached only by boat or a steep, scented hike through juniper and Mediterranean scrub, the cove rewards effort with near-absolute silence, broken only by cicadas and the lap of water against granite. The dual bays, separated by a narrow rocky spine, offer sheltered swimming and snorkeling over sandy shoals and submerged boulders sculpted by centuries of wind and sea.

Part of a strictly regulated marine and terrestrial reserve, access is limited to preserve its fragile ecosystem, lending every visit a sense of privileged discovery. Framed by wild Mediterranean maquis and granite sculpted by wind and time, it remains one of the archipelago’s most breathtaking, unspoiled corners.
