This natural cove and coastal viewpoint sits at the wild edge of Tayrona National Park, where the jungle-cloaked foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta descend abruptly into the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Two crescents of pale sand curve around a rocky islet crowned with swaying palms, connected to the mainland by a narrow sandbar and topped with a thatched-roof mirador hut that has become an emblem of Colombia’s coastline.

Framed by boulders, tropical forest, and coral-flecked waters, the setting blends indigenous Tayrona heritage with untamed biodiversity, howler monkeys and toucans included. Visitors arrive after a jungle trek or coastal boat ride, rewarded with panoramic views from the hut atop the islet, overlooking twin bays on either side. It remains one of the most photographed natural landmarks in Colombia, prized for its raw, unspoiled beauty rather than any built infrastructure.
