This dramatic natural landmark is Oregon’s tallest waterfall, a two-tiered cascade plunging 620 feet (189 meters) down a sheer basalt cliff carved by ancient volcanic floods within the Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Creek tumbles first over an upper drop before gathering itself and falling again to a mist-veiled pool, the entire spectacle framed by towering evergreens and moss-draped rock walls.

Arching gracefully between the two tiers is the slender stone Benson Bridge, built in 1914, offering visitors a vantage point suspended amid the spray and roar of falling water. The surrounding old-growth forest, rich with ferns and Douglas fir, lends the site an almost mythic, emerald hush.
