This natural turquoise cove is one of Ibiza’s most captivating beaches, tucked into the wild, pine-scented coastline north of Sant Antoni de Portmany. A crescent of pale golden sand meets shallow, luminously clear water that shifts from emerald to sapphire as it deepens, framed by ochre limestone cliffs cloaked in Aleppo pines.

Twinned with its smaller sister cove, Cala Saladeta, just over the headland, Cala Salada retains an authentic, unpolished charm — weathered fishermen’s boat huts still line its edges, remnants of a slower island life before tourism reshaped the coast. Across the water, the islet of Illa de sa Ferradura rises from the sea, anchoring the horizon and lending the bay its distinctive, almost secretive character.

Protected within the Es Amunts nature reserve, the cove rewards those who make the descent through fragrant pine woods with some of Ibiza’s finest snorkelling conditions and, at dusk, west-facing sunsets that rank among the island’s most celebrated.
