|Amangiri Resort Canyon Point, United States ⚲
This is an ultra-luxury desert resort hotel, hidden within 600 acres of raw sandstone wilderness on the border of Utah and Arizona. Amangiri means « peaceful mountain, » and its architecture, poured in rammed concrete the color of the surrounding rock, seems to grow directly from the ancient escarpment rather than sit upon it. A sculpted swimming pool curls around a single stone butte at the resort’s heart, while floor-to-ceiling glass walls dissolve the boundary between suite and canyon.
By day, the site draws light and shadow across wind-carved buttes and layered mesas that have stood for millions of years; by dusk, the entire rust-toned canyon country ignites in amber and violet. The atmosphere is one of monastic calm and cinematic scale, favored by those seeking silence, extreme privacy, and proximity to the sacred landscapes of the Navajo Nation. Spa treatments, canyon hikes, and stargazing complete an experience defined by stillness rather than spectacle.
